MECHANICAL/HVAC Engineer

Great opportunity to work with an emerging MEP consulting firm with a tremendous potential for growth. Our expanding client base will allow candidate to work on a variety of projects with a solid support staff including excellent junior mechanical engineers and an excellent CAD Manager. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are well-rounded design engineers and project managers with a wide variety of experience.

Responsibilities Include:

• Complete design of HVAC systems including field survey, load calculations, design concepts, design criteria, selecting equipment, equipment distribution layouts, editing specifications, assembly of construction documents, reviewing shop drawings, attending construction meetings and punch list.
• Lead energy management and building commissioning projects.
• Management of projects including meeting with clients, writing proposals, managing finances, trade and deadline coordination, coordinating other trades (Electrical, Plumbing, Sprinkler).
• Assist owner in developing HVAC design, AutoCAD standards, and specifications.
• Strong organizational skills, superior verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills are highly desired. Must be adaptive, flexible, and ability to work under tight schedules to meet necessary deadlines.
• Training new employees.

Compensation:

• Salary varies based on experience level, but will be competitive.
• Commission bonuses are available for any work the candidate brings to the firm.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years HVAC design experience.
• Experience with energy management, green building and building commissioning a must.
• Experience with projects in NYC a must.
• Diverse experience required (tenant fit outs, data centers, restaurants, chiller and boiler plants, etc.)
• Great marketing and people skills.
• BS or BE in related engineering field.
• Strong organizational skills, superior verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills are highly desired. Must be adaptive, flexible, and ability to work under tight schedules to meet necessary deadlines.
