Since 1966, Englert Inc. has been the gold standard for
commercial and residential metal roofing and gutter
systems, as well as on-site roll-forming machines. The
company prides itself for being on the cutting edge, and
they boast the largest selection of Energy Star approved
materials and coatings in the nation. At their 50,000
square foot headquarters in Perth Amboy, NJ, Englert
performs most of their manufacturing processes necessary
for creating the variety of products they sell. This project
involved the installation of a new industrial paint line
machine capable of shaping and painting large amounts of
sheet metal. The building was retrofitted with a hydrogen
incinerator for capturing and burning harmful gases.
Location: 1200 Amboy Avenue, Perth Amboy, New Jersey 08861
Challenges: The existing facility had to be evaluated for code
compliance with regards to storing paint, sprinkler and fire
alarm coverage and waste water disposal. The existing
electrical service for the building was maxed out and the
facility wanted to increase their electrical capacity without
any down time.
Achievements: To anticipate the future growth of the facility, a new high
voltage 2000A transformer was designed to bring a second
service into the building. This second service eventually tied
into the existing loads, but the facility could not shut down
for any period of time. Accordingly, the existing service
remained intact to allow for continuous power supply to the
building throughout construction. The existing sprinkler
systems were carefully coordinated and redistributed to
accommodate the various hazardous uses of the building. |
